his work "Journey beyond the starts", Sawhney gives a dystopian account of the place Los Angeles. He says, "Beneath the bright lights and the spectacle of Hollywood glamour, and away from Malibu beachfront homes is an epic tale of racial disharmony, territorial conquest, and the attempted extermination of the original peoples"(1). The imagery he has tried to create here is that fact that it is the most dark under the lamp itself. I can relate to my post where I used the word glamour in connection to the dominant narrative of Los Angeles. Outsiders only see the glitter and glamour, they will never know the "epic" stories of racial tensions that the land of Los Angeles has survived. Los Angeles in many way defines a whole range of American emotions.
